Overview

The Compensation Intern will assist the Compensation, Benefits and HRIS functions with ongoing tasks and priorities.  This focus of the 2025 Intern is to assist the Compensation, Benefits and HRIS Team’s projects and day-to-day work.  As time permits, the intern will assist other members of the HR Team as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Compensation Team Support: Market Data review and clean up to include: titling, function/family, grade and bonus target; conduct job title review; assist Compensation Analyst with salary survey submissions and uploads into Payfactors; provide Market Data to HRBP’s upon request; prepare seniority reports for purposes of employee anniversary milestones.
  • Benefits and HRIS Team Support: Respond to employee inquiries related to general benefits questions. Support benefits premium billing process with third party vendor for employees on leaves of absence. Support 401k & Finance audit by pulling documentation for sample population. Assist in preparing leave reports, audit FMLA utilization with carrier, respond to carrier inquiries related to leaves. Assist with carrier audits and correction of enrollment issues. 
  • Special projects as required

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will be fast-paced and detail oriented, with a high confidence level.  Preferred experience or knowledge of human resources.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, with solid analytical ability.  Proven ability to learn new technology systems quickly.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must be comfortable interacting with individuals within and outside the company.  
  • Completed sophomore year of college with a focus in business, communications, English, or similar.  Human Resources courses or analytics are desired.
  • Some work experience in customer-facing role highly desired.  Professional internship experience is a plus. Must have a customer-service oriented personality.
